Cleveland Browns Offseason 2014

  • Breaking News :

    Wow !

    bin absolut sprachlos.

Was ging da in den letzten Wochen hinter verschlossenen Türen ab?

:paelzer:

    ;)

    Selbstkritik Haslam :

    Zitat

"I will tell you that I underestimated this,'' he said Tuesday during a press conference to address the departure of CEO Joe Banner and general manager Mike Lombardi. "It's a learning curve to be an NFL owner. If you want to look at me as a work-in-progress, that’s fair to say or to do.

"I will tell you this: These are the last of the major changes that we’re going to make in the organization -- but we’ll continue to, if I can use the word, ‘tinker’ with the organization to continue to find was to improve it and make it better.”
"I will accept comments and criticism about change,'' said Haslam, who's come under heavy criticism both locally and nationally for his quick hook. "I will accept responsibility for some of the changes that have been made. There is no primer for being an NFL owner. It is a learn-on-the-go, if you will, but I think what’s really important is for everybody in this room but really much more so for our fans to understand that this ownership group, our family and this owner is committed to bringing a winner to the Browns. As I said when we introduced (coach Mike Pettine) a few weeks ago, ‘Talk is cheap, and actions speak louder than words.’ ''

-Draft : Banner will/wollte Manziel , Pettine aber sagt : "No-go".

    Farmer :

Farmer expressed confidence in his ability to make the right pick at No. 4 overall.

    Zitat

Regardless of who the player is or what position he plays, I’ll make the right decision,'' he said. "I think it’s more a collaborative thing. Jimmy said I’ll have final say on the 53. (But) I’m definitely going to be aware how the coaches feel. I’m going to be aware how the scouts feel. I’ll be aware how I feel. I’ll mesh those opinions as well as the other ones we have and make the right decision on the quarterback moving forward assuming that that’s the position we actually take at that point.”

Ich will jetzt "grün" sehen (check) ,nichts anderes ! :tongue2:

  • Hier nochmal was zum "final-say" :

    Zitat

Haslam promoted Farmer from assistant general manager to GM. Farmer immediately took control of the team’s football operations and will have final say on its 53-man roster. New coach Mike Pettine will have final say on the 46-man, game-day roster, Haslam said. In the meantime, Farmer is expected to hire former Kansas City Chiefs vice president of player personnel Bill Kuharich as a consultant who’ll assist him during what Haslam previously dubbed “the crucial offseason,” a league source confirmed, speaking on condition of anonymity because the team has yet to announce the move.

    Zitat

When asked if Banner’s desire to interview Quinn again meant Haslam and Banner weren’t on the same page during the head-coaching search, Haslam said, “I was really committed to Coach Pettine.”

Haslam sidestepped several other questions about the coaching search’s role in him dismissing Banner and Lombardi.

“I think we went through a very thorough search,” Haslam said. “Comments were made about how long it took. I would not do one thing different in the search, and I think we got the best person available.”

    Ridenour :

    Zitat

Haslam might have been reacting to Banner’s and Lombardi’s failure to deliver a coach like Bill O’Brien (hired by the Houston Texans) or Josh McDaniels (who remained offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots) or after a falling out with Banner over Seattle Sea*hawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who Banner wanted to interview a second time after the Super Bowl.

:tongue2:

  • Kleines Q & A Spiel mit Farmer im heutigen Plain Dealer.

    http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.s…ml#incart_river

    Daraus :

    Zitat

Will Farmer, who has final say over the 53-man roster, change his mind if coach Mike Pettine and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan prefer a different quarterback?

    http://www.dawgsbynature.com/2014/2/17/5416…-johnny-manziel

    http://www.ohio.com/sports/browns/…begins-1.467649

    Auszug:

    Zitat

For the first time a while, the O-line could undergo significant changes. If the Browns don’t work out a new deal with Pro Bowler and potential free agent Alex Mack, 28, center will become a pressing need.

    Zitat

Strong safety could become an urgent need, too, if Pro Bowler and potential free agent T.J. Ward, 27, is not re-signed or hit with a franchise tag.

  • Indianapolis, Browns roundup :

    HB Carlos Hyde

    Zitat

“Being at Ohio State you see their games all the time,” the Buckeyes halfback said. “There was some games they struggled real bad running the ball and in order to be successful in the league you have to run the ball.

“I feel like I can definitely help them out.”

As of Friday afternoon, he said nobody from the team had spoken to him, but that could change quickly. The Browns need an upgrade at the position and possess ample picks – 10 overall and five in the first three rounds.

Will Byrd (Pettine-Bonus) zu uns ?

The Cleveland Browns are moving on without D'Qwell Jackson.

The team released the linebacker Wednesday, soon after the sides met and mutually agreed to part ways. Jackson had been due a $4.1 million roster bonus on March 15.

Jackson told The Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot that the team tried to restructure his contract, but the number wasn't right for him. He added: "I want to go somewhere with stability."
